Born and raised in British Columbia, Canada

I was officially diagnosed with epilepsy in 2015 at the age of 49, followed by a secondary diagnosis of Psychogenic Non-epileptic Seizures in 2019.
I’m one of the 10-20% that live with both epileptic and non-epileptic seizures.
Why this blog?
My goal is to share the complexities of my chronic illness, the search for understanding, the whys and how comes. This site is a space of awareness and education [from my perspective].
This site is for fellow sufferers, medical professionals and their patients, researchers, the curious, and family and friends.
Epilepsy is unique to each individual, as widely varied as the seizures themselves.
My story is complex and does not sit within the stereotypical ‘box’. It is so far removed it’s on another dimension.
The words written are mine.
The opinions expressed here are my interpretation of what I’ve experienced and read about.
The facts of my journey are based on real events as they happened, are not recommendations, medical advice, or ‘how to’ guide.
I dedicate this site to all those who assisted and supported me.
An exhaustive list of family and friends and the dedicated professionals who’ve walked beside me on this new path.
Thank you.
Hugs and kisses,
Linda
